food in new york.

since i've been in new york i have been meeting up with lots of friends for coffee, brunch, and dinner.
here are some of the places that i've checked out so far...
this place was cute, the waiter was super nice, coffee was weak.
i met up with lauren and pita (houston peeps that have moved here) so i didn't mind about the coffee.

the french toast was awesome! and the orange marmalade syrup was yummy!

the veggie omlet was ok but once i put hot sauce it was better.
it was just a little bland for my taste. if you are thinking i ordered 2 things, i kind of did, rannie and i split our meals so we had more variety. we wanted salty and sweet. it's more satisfying that way.

sunday we met our friend dave pacho here at dumont. its has such a great vibe. loved it.

high five! we finally got a decent cup of joe

the huevos ranchero's very goooood. bloody mary good and strong.
this place was rad. we sat in the back patio and enjoyed the awesome weather and good conversation.
thanks to dave who recommended us meeting here.

this place is called saltie's. we stopped here because rannie said they had the best salted caramel ice cream sandwhich's. well, they were out of caramel so we had maple and they were DEEELISH!

look dave and i both have elbow pouches! his jacket is awesome
its from the surface to air and kings of leon collaboration. jealous!
ive also eaten
thai food
lots of pizza
and sandwhiches
but i forget to take my camera sometimes.
and OMG my legs hurt from walking so much! dang!
i have a few more days to grub, then i start my no sugar no alcohol challenge.
keep telling me places i should check out. i have 3 more days here!

So jealous of all the yummy food you are eating! I can't believe you're going on a no sugar or alcohol diet when you get back. I would have a hard time with the sugar. I have the worst sweet tooth ever! At least you're burning off lots of calories with all the walking you're doing! Can't wait to see more photos of all your adventures!

i loved new york for all the food! haha.
one of my favorite places we had dinner was this thai restaurant, but i can't remember what it was called.
it was so great, tho!
afterwards, i was so stuffed that my belly was like, the hugest. i had the biggest food baby to ever happen.
i can't stress enough how pregnant i looked. ha.
my friend leah was jokingly rubbing my belly.
and this foreign man walked by and was really excited, "is it kicking?! it's kicking?!"
major. embarrassed. :)

Your breakfast looks so yummy.
I hate it when I get weak coffee, I love it strong.
I hope to go to New York in the Summer Holidays this year, can't wait.

oh I'm so jealous! Your trip looks awesome! I haven't been on vacation but I've been doing a bit of feasting on my own here at home!

I've been thinking its time for a no-sugar, no-alcohol purge myself. Maybe we can challenge each other??

I'm not sure if you're near one, but Red Bamboo has some of the most delicious vegan and vegetarian food I've ever eaten. Seriously--my husband brings it up all the time--and we ate it last October!

hey i live right beside saltie and have yet to check it out. i think i might be headed there this weekend for that caramel number. if you're in williamsburg you should check out roebling tea room. tons of tea and very nice atmosphere. also def go to korea town 32st. btw 5th and broadway. almost all of the korean bbq places there are to die for! dim sum in chinatown is also a fun and delicious experience and if you go, don't forget to check out the ice cream factory. http://www.chinatownicecreamfactory.com/ they have the craziest/most delightful flavors. good luck and have fun. let me know if you want any more ideas.

SALTED CARAMEL ICECREAM IS MY FAVE!!!! Hagen Daz has that flavor and it's to die for!

Don't go on a diet. I've decided that I hate diets. They make my mind miserable.... just come back and eat healthy things for a while... just don't deprive yourself of fun things.
