I could go on and on...

...about Josh Ritter and Josh Rouse. They are equally high in my exclusive songwriter suite of esteem and both of them have new records! When the Joshes stay at my place, they get the couch; where as anyone else is searching the floor for stray goose down or gummie bears to lie on.

Rouse's 8th album, El Turista, came out last week. Ritter's new album, So Runs the World Away, comes out in the U.S. May 4, but the vinyl version will be available April 17 as a special release coinciding with Record Store Day. Also, Ritter put out another sweet deluxe re-issue. This one is of his 2003 album, Hello Starling, complete with a bonus disc of the entire album done solo acoustic and a few excellent live tracks.

Below are some of my favorites from both artists.

Josh Ritter

Kathleen
Girl In the War
To the Dogs Or Whoever
Leaving
Snow Is Gone
Thin Blue Flame
Golden Age of Radio
The Temptation of Adam

Josh Rouse

100M Backstroke
Sad Eyes
It Looks Like Love
Valencia
Laughter
Jersey Clowns
It's the Nighttime
Nothing Gives Me Pleasure
Late Night Conversation
Streetlights

Oh wow Oh wow!! I am so happy to see Josh Ritter on your blog. I have listened to his music for about seven years. I was introduced to him when a smoozer guy said to me "All the other girls here are stars you are the morthern lights" haha it didnt work but it made me discover Josh. I saw him in Maine this winter with my mama and we both fell in love with him, he was so energetic and happy. Dont really know why Im telling you this but I love when I find other Ritter fans! And I too am awaiting his new vinyl. Happy Spring!

Record store day is the day after my birthday, so I KNOW I'll be getting new music! And the tiny indie record store in my town is participating! Actually the owner is at SXSW right now and I'm a little jealous.
