i told you there was a tutorial coming soon. i hope you love this as much as i do! works on clean hair, dirty hair, curly hair, straight hair, long hair... and if you decide to try it, please let me know what you think. do you like it? was it easy? does this style look good on you?

*if you have short hair and love the braid...YOU CAN do your own version of it:)

see this blonde braid around my head. i made this headband with doll hair. you can buy doll hair  at Michael's, hobby lobby, or your local craft store. i like to use doll hair when i am working on fun updo's for photoshoots. so girls with the short hair, just wrap it around your head and use blond bobby pins to hold in place.

if i want a thicker braided headband i use extensions. so have fun get creative, and if you have short hair this can work for you too! work that braid girl!

i wanted to see if this hair do would stay in place after a work out (i ran outside and was soaked) and it did!!! * i just pinned my bangs back. i loved wearing my hair like this all day! it totally kept the hair off my neck, and sometimes the swing of my pony tail annoys me while i'm running. you know what i'm talking about?!
then the ponytail slaps you and gets stuck on your sweaty face. ugh i hate that!  problem solved with this bohemian updo. this photo was taken after my workout, please excuse the sweat.

do you think you will try this? what do you think about the hair tutorials? do you want more tutorials, product knowledge, inspiration? if you have a specific request let me know.

Hi, Brandi!

Awe, I'm super excited about getting a braid! I'm sure I'll find where to buy it. I'm thinking about having long hair and maybe dyeing some locks fuchsia again, I don´t know. It's still too short to get too creative, but the fake braid will work just fine. Thanks a lot! =)

Hi Brandi,

Thanks for the tutorial! I've actually started trying to do the messy bun thing lately (instead of my normal sad little ponytail thing). InStyle had a little blurb about something similar to this that I tried to do, but I got fed up with all of the random twists in the back (it's hard because I couldn't see what I was doing!). Anyway, I'm excited to try this out soon! Oh, and I hear you on the ponytail while running. I hate it when I can feel the hair swinging on the back of my neck. Agh -- it's so irritating.
Hugs, hugs.
p.s. Dudley proposed last week! Agh! Yay!

"maximize your awesomeness" you're cute! i'm definitely going to do my hair like this because it gets WAY too hot to leave it down, and the same old up-do can get boring. so, thanks for sharing!

oh, and let me know if you decide to try out roller derby. i think you could kick some serious arse!

I will definately be trying this one out! I usually do two braids and then make a type of crown as my hair is a bit shorter at the moment, will just have to let it grow a bit i suppose! i like the tutorial, it clear and easy to follow xx

I would love to hear some more product information. Especially for dry hair. All the stuff i put into it just makes it even dryer the nect day...so i put nothing in it these days...it helps but my hair looks a bit weird:-) Really enjoy your blog!
