 pony tail- jacob's favorite.
 heavy bangs
 braided headband.
bobby pin madness- you can go all the way down for an artistic look.
bangs down side braid pinned back.
 feather headband.
straight and spunky- grow out from one side of my head being shaved.
twisted bang pin back- great for grow out stage.
big hair big fun- the messier the better.
 braided front with feather.
 side pony.
 bohemian updo. see tutorial
 2 braids 1 feather.

pin hair all to one side.
 one side braid.
take out your braids for random waves and wear a heavy side part.
tired of your hair, small changes make a big difference like....
 change your part girl.

middle part.

I hope these little changes help you when you are in a hair rut. Seriously just play around with your hair, look at magazines, people on TV, go people watch and figure out what you like.

Oh and product is key! I get asked all the time what shampoo and conditioner do i use. I use AQUAGE most of the time.
Moroccan oil sometimes, Mop lemon grass, and Schwarzkopf. I NEVER USE CRAPPY SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER. crappy shampoo= grocery store stuff like pantene, suave, or even the professional brands.
The professional brands at the grocery store are most likely defected or rejects. It's really important to use a good shampoo because build up is a pain, and cheap shampoo's give lots of wax build up and limp hair.

So please please ask your hair stylist for the best shampoo and conditioner for you. Don't be cheap when it comes to your hair. It will make a big difference I know because i did an experiment with cheap shampoo vs good shampoo. If you are in doubt, ask your stylist if he/she has any samples, I am sure they do.

I am curious....What Shampoo and Conditioner do you use?

This was so much fun! Thanks for sharing! I hate not being able to be creative with my rather short hair =/.

I never paid much attention to the shampoo =O. I buy Pantene ... thought it was good. And when I had a bob, I never even wore conditioner.

I almost asked for a tutorial for the bohemian updo until I saw that you had one... love it!

your hair is so fun. I really need to start taking pictures of mine so I can remember what I like!
ok my shampoo & conditioner pick is currently oscar blandi- for mormal to dry hair. it has this great almost nonexistant smell that I am obsessed with. I also love to sneak the boys bath & body mentha shampoo when i need help waking up.
1st runner up is kenra clarifying shampoo.
love!

Oh wow, I absolutely love this post. Small changes does make a difference. I'm a moody person and I tend to play with different hairstyles depending on the mood that I am in.

you could say I have a bit of hair jealousy right now! :) You rock the Bohemian updo.

your hair makes me so jealous! i have a similar texture with all the waves.. but mine never looks THAT good. I wish you could do my hair! waaah for living in Florida. That being said, I use the new L'Oreal no sulfate shampoo, I don't know what it's called. I'm cheap and really bad at going to the salon (I need a trim right now so bad) next time I go i'll get some good shampoo :)

I love this post! Your hair tutes are my fave fave fave. I love the middle part - I've been trying that lately since I'm in a mega hair rut!

I don't use great shampoo :/

I'm jealous.
No matter what, you're always adorable.
And have to admit, I've gotten into such a rut of the side braid... now I'm inspired to do something new :)

I use suave pomegranate shampoo (ick, I know. but as a broke college student, I don't have much of a choice...) and organix coconut conditioner. I'm absolutely IN LOVE with it because it has the most fantastic scent.
sometimes if I'm splurging I use Sukesha shampoo and paul mitchell super skinny conditioner.

Major love! I really need to try some different stuff with my hair, I'm inspired now to do so. ^.^

By the way I featured y'all awesome blog on my latest blog post. ♥

Hey Brandi! I have a question.. How often do you wash your hair? How often should you wash it? I wash mine atleast once a day, sometimes twice.. Is that a no no?
I love this post btw! :)

you look like a hotter fergie in the bottom pics :-D I like that middle part on you.

I use awful conditioner and shampoo. AWFUL. Herbal Essence, and it's cheap and although i don't have to worry about volume (got lots of hair so that's not a prob) it does look dull sometimes. I saw some shampoo on an infomercial that i was pretty sold on, but now i forget what it was.

tell us some good shampoos!

you are seriously always adorable. i'm definitely going to try to switch up my 'do a bit now. i use paul mitchell's color protect shampoo and conditioner. what's your opinion on paul mitchell products (if bought from a salon)?

I use a henna shampoo bar and ACV rinse afterward. I do Moroccan Oil treatments weekly. I try to use organic, natural things on my hair whenever possible.

i was wondering the same thing as mckenzie! how often is too often for washing hair? i was mine every day (and straighten it), but only because i work out every day... i also rarely use shampoo, but use conditioner almost every time. am i murdering my hair?

i really loved this post.
unfortunately i can't wear all these hairstyles or i have to do slight modifications because i have curly hair.i love wearing braids in my hair but most of the time you can't see it if it's a pinned braid because it will get lost in all the curliness.

it would be awesome to see hairstyle tutorials for curly hair from you.

pretty please :D

i wash mine every other day or wash like:
monday- wash
tuesday -nothing
wed- rinse and scrub scalp with water
thursday- wash
....i use fresh hair by kevin murphy when its greasy.
when i work out i only rinse.
i never shampoo ends of my hair, just roots.
and condition ends only so my roots don't get greasy.

hope this helps ladies!

love them all.
How do you feel about Organix shampoo and conditioner? I know it is still "cheap" but I used to use herbal essance and other crap, and when i switched to this i noticed a huge difference. But it is till crappy? Just slightly less crappy?

I'm curious on your take on organic and natural shampoos. I've been using Avalon Organics Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner. I feel like it does wonders for my hair. Also my hair is very very thin. I realize that it is probably not 100% Organic also. And the smell isn't my favorite, but I love the price and how my hair feels/looks.
Have you ever tested it? I would love to know what you thought if you did?

i read this yesterday.. and it actually helped me decide what to do with my hair today! (twisty bangs thing.. in the middle of growing out) :) thanks!

you are too cute! i love your hair with a center part! i use joico, but my mom just gave me some wen by chaz dean. i feel like i'm going to love it, but kinda hoping i won't because it's so pricey!

GAH
I want your hair. I stopped straightening mine a couple years ago, but the only time it stays fun and wavy is in the summer. Winter = staticky/greasy. Somehow thick and flat always. I need a tutorial on products. i really don't put anything in my hair, and I'm sure doing something fast in the morning would help a lot. Thanks for the great photos, LOVE the feather/braids!!

YO!!!!!!!!! I loved this post sooo much I reverberated it on my blog. i use sh*tty shampoo and condition too, but dont have problemo with it cause when it "stops working" i just throw it away and try somethin new. heh. anywho...loved ur hair post. thanks for sharing. peace out.

Hi, I'm Shannon from PA, also a hair stylist :) I love that you're spreading the word on the whole shampoo/conditioner deal. I'm currently switching between Biolage/Back to Basics & It's a Ten :) Another good tip: use a different shampoo/conditioner almost every time. If you use the same one consistently your hair will get immune to it and it actually won't do what it's supposed too! Also remember to ring out most of the water before you condition and keep the condition on the ends! :)

Do you know how an English gal might get her hands on some aquage products? Seems only USA stockists :-( bummer! Great post xxx
