Hey gals and guys! Anyone else running around like a chicken with its' head cut off this week trying to prepare for SXSW? In the spirit of SXSW and music fest season, Brandi and I have been looking for simple, but stylish hair solutions. We've been seeing a lot of the braided friendship bracelets come back into circulation and then we picked up NYLON magazine and they brought that same feel to some long locks. Watch the video to see how you can have a unique hairstyle that will look good all day without effort while at SXSW.
*since this is how I plan to wear my while at SX (wednesday-sunday), I did a test run this week and so far, so good. BONUS, it's sleep proof. All I've been doing is using a little dry shampoo to freshen the look (starting around morning #3).
This brought me back to my 10 year old summer self. We used to braid embroidery thread and yarn in our hair and see how long it would last. It lasted through more than a week of water parks, trampolines and bike riding. I'm sure it will hold up at sxsw. xo.
Great idea! I did a two week canoe trip when I was 16 and did this. It worked so well that I kept them in for the 4 weeks following that I was at camp. They were pretty grotty by the end, but still fun. I'm totally doing this at our folk festival this summer! -Cara Mason www.midkid.ca
such a cute idea! i totally used to do this with big satin ribbons when i was in elementary school....but just one big braid. i was so cool. haha!
i totally understand busy-ness. we totally should still collaborate on something once you get some time.... whether it's the camera thing or something else. either way...i want some more brandi in my life!
Bed head dry shampoo is basically the best invention ever, especially for festivals. When I go to festivals or multi-show runs with my fiance's band, it pretty much saves me. Those outdoor showers are gross.

So cuuute! Will you girls be at a booth or showcase? I'd love to swing by and buy a little shark necklace, or just say hello.
If not, enjoy the week! :)
Oops! That comment from "Miss Holly" is from me. :)
I love this and can't wait to try it!
