SUMMER HAIR/OMBRE HAIR GOING STRONG

THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE!

photos found in google images.

so I believe I did a post last year about Ombre hair...and people are just going mad about it still. not my post...the ombre look. This trend has not sizzled yet.

I don't think you should try it at home if you don't know what you are doing.
If you are comfortable doing your own hair I suggest trying random pieces of hair first (under layers).

Please don't  put a rubber band on and dip your hair ends in bleach by yourself.
I hate when you can see a distinct line around the head. It should look blended

on the way to my salon with half wet hair, i need my curl stick!

The way I got this look.
i am a fan of the random hidden highlights,
sometimes I tone the blonde to make it darker, sometimes I leave random pieces really light.
I touch up my roots with a warmer brown color (level 5 range) because my natural brown is ashy.
little by little I started adding more random highlights mostly underneath but then adding some on the top layers and around my face (still not going to the root though)
Sometimes my mom does my hair and other times I do it because I am such a control freak.
I might have to do a video because I don't like what I am seeing on you tube...

This is after we left my salon so I could use my curl stick.

Please don't  put a rubber band on and dip your hair ends in bleach by yourself.
I hate when you can see a distinct line around the head.
it should look blended.

i want this ombre look! i did a few hidden highlights myself (like kassi did back in june) but i'm a little too nervous to do this to myself. i need to find someone GOOD around here who knows how to do this! i definitely don't want it as blonde as drew barrymore, but i love sarah jessica parker's!

xoxoxo!

You two are making me much more confident in letting my hair go natural after I wash it. I love straight hair but I'm learning to embrace my natural waves. And I'd like to do hidden highlights too but my hair is just so dark to begin with and I think subtle browns wouldn't be noticeable.

i've been sporting the ombre look for a few months now, and i still kinda love it, though i might want to change the overall color - like go red!

PLEASE do a tutorial for this! I have ombred my own hair with bleach and bleached it in a gradient to create the blended look. it turned out pretty seamless for the first time ive ever dyed my hair. but i'd love an experts tips on how do it! Ive been in love with ombred hair since SATC and i didnt know what carrie's hairstyle was called. Especially in the episodes when she goes to paris! Love the blog. X

I've been desperately trying to grow my hair so I've stopped bleaching it (I'm naturally dark blonde) If I continue to leave it, will it look like this?? Here's hoping!

I too would love a tutorial on how you get your curls. What type of curl stick do you use? My hair is about your length butI haven't been able to find a good curling iron for it! Would love any tips!
Thanks!

You girls give me such hair envy. Its so so glamourous all the time.
My hair is so thin and fine it doesnt do anything but just lay there but this month I am getting some well deserved extensions.

I may see if we can put together an ombreish colour when doing them!

Wow times have changed...when did the 'growing out your highlights' look become a look in itself with it's own name?
And how did the name 'Ombre' come about? Thx.
Trippy!

:)

(yea so I'm a little out of touch with stuff that's 'happenin')

The last picture is my favorite too because her ombre hair is unique. I like her golden blonde highlights because it suits her skin tone. I am excited to visit a hair salon Perth because I am planning to have an ombre hair too.
