26 miles west of Austin, $10 parking, a .25 mile hike down hill and you have a little piece of heaven called Hamilton Pool...
Everything was a bit crunchy since rain has been a stranger to TX this year and I didn't know what to expect out of this swimmin' hole.
Sadly, I lost my key necklace and some earrings along the way, but it wasn't the worst thing that could have happened. At least it wasn't my boots!
Snacks are always a must! Wasabi Peas and Almonds are our swimmin 'go-to' munchies.
This place was just what we needed. Texas makes me proud.
Are you a fan of swimming holes or do you prefer a man made pool?

that looks like such a fun place to go, like your own oasis! i would never go to a swimming hole here because the water doesn't look nearly that good, plus there are snakes! but if we had one that looked like that, i'd definitely go! my grandma's pool works good though :)
I'm not even sure we HAVE swimming holes in California! We have beaches, lakes & mini rivers that look like streams. Sometimes they damn the rivers & make mini pools to swim in. Those are really fun to swim around in, especially if you can feel the current of the river & swim against it! =) This place looks SO cool! I'll have to explore a swimming hole some time.
Im from minnesota where pools are really really expensive to go to. and in the big cities. Mostly everyone just goes to the lake since we are the state of 10,000 lakes. although we are lush and green and beautiful we do not have very many rock formations are gorgeous as this!
Thank you so much for sharing. It has been years since I traversed those grounds & have a scar on my back to prove I was there. What a glorious mecca. I know someone was super stoked to find your cool necklace & probably sad that you lost it.
I looove swimming holes! Here in N Florida we have quite a few sink holes that have the prettiest, crystal, clear, blue water and they're so refreshing in the summer. I want to go to this place, it looks awesome!
Oh my god, that just looks like too much fun! I love swimming holes and such more than the man made pools mainly because the chlorine does really odd things to my hair and skin. Ew. haha! :)
i don't think i have a swimming hole around here but it looks amazing. love it, reminds me of the old days when ladies used to bring their kids to swimming holes while the men were at work. #getit

Love it! Don't worry about loosing the key, the person who finds it will probably google it and guess what?! It will take them to your blog. You might want to start doing that, leaving keys in random places.
My husband and I went to Hamilton Pool on our honeymoon. I feel in love with it. So this year when we were back in the area we tried to go and they weren't letting anyone swim.
We ended up going to Krause Springs which is right down the road. If you haven't been I highly recommend it!!! It was my favorite stop on our vacation this year!
Awww I love the hair in the first picture. I've been trying to figure out how to do it but Im clueless. Tutorial maybe?

Looks like heaven!! Wish we had some around here. And I must agree with everyone, hair tute for the hair in the first photo?? Also, that suit in the last photo is ADORABLE.
This is amazing! We've been hoping to go this summer and after seeing these photos even more so!
